With the agreement on a comprehensive trade and security partnership which was reached on 24 December 2020, the European Union and the United Kingdom are opening a new chapter in their relations. Nevertheless, the UK’s withdrawal from the EU as of 1 January 2021 will bring far‑reaching changes. The European Commission, the German Government and other organisations have updated their websites with information on what will change – and how the public and companies can prepare. - The website of the European Commission contains information on the necessary preparatory measures regarding relevant issues. This includes information on travel between the EU and the UK after the end of the transition period, as well as a checklist for companies.
