Düsseldorf, 20 March 2023: The Federal Chancellor was a guest at Rheinische Post's Ständehaus meeting, where he answered questions from Editor-in-Chief Moritz Döbler.
Scholz commented on European Union policy as well as Putin's offensive in Ukraine and its consequences, and also on personal issues.
The Federal Chancellor was honoured by having an orchid named after him during his state visit to Singapore in November last year and these flowers were placed on the many tables at that evening’s event.
Berlin, 21 March 2023: Federal Chancellor Scholz welcomed the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, to his inaugural visit to the Federal Chancellery on Tuesday evening.
The discussions were focused on the current security situation in Europe as a result of the Russian incursion into Ukraine as well as other international, European, and bilateral issues.
Berlin, 22 March 2023: Among other things, the Federal Cabinet dealt with the continuation of the participation of German armed forces in the European Union-led operation EUNAVFOR MED IRINI in the central Mediterranean in its 55th session.
Brussels, 23 March 2023: Federal Chancellor Scholz arriving for the two-day European Council meeting. One issue on the agenda concerned the competitiveness of the European economy.
The central focus of the meeting was how to make Europe a carbon-neutral continent as rapidly as possible and how to secure its economic future.
"We were able to discuss the political issues we are all concerned about in Europe," said Scholz. "Our aim is to consolidate fair partnerships around the world, to speed up the climate-friendly transformation of our economy, and to promote economic growth."
