09.03.15: More than ten hours later the delegation landed in Tokyo.
At the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation she became acquainted with the humanoid robot ASIMO.
She visited the offices of the daily newspaper "Asahi Shimbun". Its circulation is one of the highest in the world.
During a forum organised by "Asahi Shimbun" Angela Merkel advocated that the free trade agreement between the EU and Japan be signed swiftly.
Later the Chancellor was received by Emperor Akihito.
Thereafter Prime Minister Shinzo Abe welcomed the Chancellor to discuss preparations for the G7 summit and bilateral issues.
After their meeting the Chancellor and the Japanese Prime Minister fielded questions from the media.
The day closed with dinner.

Then in Kawasaki the Chancellor visited a plant of the automobile manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso.
The automobile manufacturer is a joint undertaking of Daimler AG and the Japanese company Mitsubishi Corporation and has a workforce of around 11,000.
The German delegation flew back from Tokyo's Haneda Airport.
