Improved certificate management

Version 2.13 adds a recycle bin function for certificates to the Corona-Warn-App. The expansion of the certificate section of the app to create a so-called wallet in update 2.5 made it possible to display different digital certificate types (vaccination or convalescent status, PCR or antigen test result). If users delete these certificates now, the virtual recycle bin keeps them for another 30 days. This means that accidentally deleted certificates can be restored.

In addition, certificate assignment has been improved. The Corona-Warn-App now assigns certificates that have a different number of spaces between the person’s first and last name to the same person. Previously, this error caused the Corona-Warn-App to assign the certificates to two different people.

Hospitalisation rate and number of COVID-19 patients in ICUs

With the update to version 2.12, the statistics section was expanded so that users can continue to use the app to check all the key indicators relevant to the pandemic. These also include the 7-day hospitalisation incidence and the number of people in ICUs suffering from COVID-19. In version 2.13, the 7-day hospitalisation incidence is now also instantly displayed at federal state level, too.

The 7-day hospitalisation incidence is the number of people hospitalised due to a COVID-19 diagnosis. It shows the reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants over a period of one week. The number of COVID-19 patients in ICUs shows the occupancy rate of intensive care beds in Germany due to COVID-19.
