The amended Citizenship Act came into force at the end of the month, along with the abolition of the previously possible right to naturalisation after only three years of residence in Germany – as well as the “construction turbo”, which enables federal states and local authorities to speed up planning and approval procedures for construction projects. In mid-October, the Federal Cabinet approved the active pension, the extended tax exemption for electric cars, the microelectronics strategy and a modernised Federal Police Act.
