Berlin, 11 April 2022: Jürgen Dusel has been in office as Federal Government Commissioner for Matters relating to Persons with Disabilities since 2018 and is now in his second term. On Monday, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz received him for a discussion.
During the visit by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Federal Chancellor Scholz stressed that Germany was campaigning strongly for EU entry negotiations with Albania to begin as soon as possible.
Scholz also stressed Albania’s full support for the EU’s decisions in its joint foreign and security policy. “In the same way as ourselves and our partners in the European Union, Albania clearly and unambiguously condemns the crimes Russia has committed against the civilian population and is implementing EU sanctions against Russia.”

In the evening, the Federal Chancellor discussed the effects of the war in Ukraine on the German economy with the heads of executive boards of German DAX companies. The companies confirmed their support for the sanction measures adopted against Russia.
Berlin, 13 April 2022: On Wednesday, the Federal Cabinet adopted the pension adjustment for 2022. This means that on 1 July, pensions will go up by 5.35 percent in Western and 6.12 percent in Eastern Germany.
“We will not go it alone.” The Federal Chancellor stressed this in a radio interview on weapons deliveries to Ukraine. The Federal Government was supplying anti-tank weapons, anti-aircraft missiles and many other military goods to Ukraine, said Scholz, adding that the Federal Government was doing this in close cooperation with all its allies.
