Press statement in advance of EPC Summit in Tirana
Federal Chancellor Merz attends European Political Community (EPC) Summit for the first time. The Chancellor stated on social media platform X that the European states must stand closer together than ever before.

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama welcomed Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz at the start of the EPC Summit.

At the start of the EPC Summit in Tirana, Federal Chancellor Merz noted the most important topics there:
- the European contribution to ending the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine,
- common migration policy and
- Europe’s economic development.
The EPC is an intergovernmental co-operation among 47 European and Middle Eastern countries working together in areas such as politics, security, energy, transport, investment and infrastructure. It was founded in Prague on 6 October 2022 and is independent of the European Union and the Council of Europe. More information on the EPC can be found here.
