Berlin, 15 October 2018: On Monday, speaking at the BGA, the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services, Chancellor Angela Merkel called on the European Union to remain resolute in Brexit negotiations.
Angela Merkel made it clear that this is crucially important for the integrity of the Single Market, which Brexit cannot be allowed to destroy.

At their meeting in Brussels the EU heads of state and government also addressed migration and internal security.
Participants agreed to step up relations with the North African states. Angela Merkel announced a meeting between the European Union and the Arab League to be held in February.

Discussions at the summit meeting looked at Europe and Asia as global partners for global challenges.
