Hamburg, 25 September 2023: Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz attended the opening of the National Aviation Conference on Monday. According to Scholz, air travel and air freight are essential when it comes to positioning Germany as a centre of advanced technology as well as for the German economy.
In terms of climate-friendly technologies, he said, the German aviation industry was already taking the lead. "We have the evidence to show that manufacturing climate-neutral fuels is also feasible in Germany," he added.
The Federal Government wishes to significantly boost the construction of affordable housing: Federal Chancellor Scholz and Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building Klara Geywitz met with the Alliance for Affordable Housing, which represents 35 partners from the construction sector, trade unions, the housing sector, business development banks, politics, and tenants' associations.
Berlin, 26 September 2023: Federal Chancellor Scholz met with the award winners of this year’s national "Jugend forscht" youth science competition in the Chancellery on Tuesday. Two students from Berlin were awarded the special award for the most original project.
Experiments carried out by the two young researchers proved that the magnetic properties of graphite are temperature dependent. Scholz congratulated them for their commitment and for having the courage to acquire expertise in a complex subject that goes far beyond the school curriculum.
That evening, the Federal Chancellor delivered a speech at the annual reception event of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ: German Society for International Collaboration).
