Federal Chancellor Scholz’ visit to the Republic of Moldova for talks focussed on bilateral relations and security policy issues. The talks with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and President Maia Sandu touched upon the impact the Russian incursion into Ukraine has on the Republic of Moldova and the country’s aspirations to join the EU.
At the subsequent press conference with President Sandu, Scholz emphasised the fact that: “Relations between Germany and the Republic of Moldova are close, based on trust, and extremely stable.”
