See the Federal Chancellor's week in pictures here: his week included a meeting with Nobel Peace Prize laureate and President of Timor-Leste José Ramos-Horta, a discussion with young journalists, talks with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia and the European Council summit in Brussels.

Berlin, 26 June 2023: The Federal Chancellor received the President of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta, on Monday. Ramos-Horta won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996 for his efforts to find a peaceful solution to the East Timor conflict.
That afternoon, over 70 up-and-coming journalists from Germany's best school newspapers gathered at the Chancellery. The Federal Chancellor discussed various topics with them, including the war in Ukraine, climate change, and what he likes best about his job.
Berlin, 27 June 2023: The Federal Chancellor was joined by the Federal Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Building, Klara Geywitz, on a visit to the "Macht Raum Gewalt" (Power Space Violence) exhibition at the Akademie der Künste, which focuses on reassessing planning and building during the National Socialist era.
Berlin, 28 June 2023: The Federal Chancellor's first appointment on Wednesday was the weekly Federal Cabinet meeting.
That afternoon, the Federal Chancellor was interviewed on television by presenter Sandra Maischberger.
The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, was welcomed to the Chancellery that evening.
During the meeting, Scholz said that Germany was "very serious" about the prospect of the Western Balkan states acceding to the EU and that he wanted to "encourage North Macedonia to continue resolutely on the path of reform".
Brussels, 29 June 2023: The European Council summit was centred on the Russian offensive in Ukraine. It was important, said Scholz upon his arrival, "that we practice solidarity on this issue and make it clear that we are prepared to keep providing Ukraine with the financial and humanitarian support it needs for a long time".
During the summit, the Federal Chancellor also emphasised his continued hopes that Sweden would join NATO: "In my view, this is an extremely important step." Looking ahead to the NATO summit in Vilnius on 11 and 12 July, the EU Council also discussed cooperation between the EU and NATO.
Brussels, 30 June 2023: The European Council continues its deliberations.
"We need to pool our defence capabilities within Europe, make our defence industry more efficient, and accelerate its production output," said the Federal Chancellor in his closing remarks during the press conference.
Berlin, 02 July 2023: Federal Chancellor Scholz covered a number of current topics in the ARD summer interview with Tina Hassel, including the Heating Act, basic income support, and the minimum wage.
