Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz has wished the athletes of the Makkabi Winter Games all the best in their competitions. Being held in 2023 for the first time in 87 years, the winter games of the worldwide Jewish sports movement are taking place in Ruhpolding, Bavaria. “It is a great achievement on the part of all those responsible that the Maccabi Winter Games are being held again after such a long time,” said the Federal Chancellor, adding that he found it particularly inspiring that the venue would be in Germany.
