German participation in foreign missions

Bundeswehr missions to be continued

The Cabinet has given the go-ahead for the extension of four Bundeswehr foreign missions. Provided this is approved by the German Bundestag, German soldiers will continue to be part of the NATO-led "Resolute Support" mission in Afghanistan and Operation "Sea Guardian" in the Mediterranean. The UN missions UNAMID in Darfur and UNMISS in South Sudan will also continue.
