Germany is one of the world's leading industrial nations. No other country exports so many high-tech goods. The label "Made in Germany" is internationally recognised as a guarantee of high quality workmanship. German products and services are known for their excellence and innovative nature. German science and engineering are held in high esteem the world over. And we want it to stay that way! Up to 2009 the German government will be spending some 15 billion euros on the development of new technologies alone.

The Science Express leaves Berlin on a nationwide round trip

How will science and research change our lives in the next one and a half decades? The Science Express aims to provide some of the answers. In the Year of Science 2009 it will be visiting 62 Germany towns and cities between now and November. Chancellor Angela Merkel took the opportunity to visit the train before it left Berlin.
