Peter AltmaierFederal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety
Peter Altmaier is Federal Environment Minister. From October 2009 until his appointment as minister in May 2012 he was First Parliamentary Secretary of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. He came to German politics from Brussels, where he worked for the European Commission as a civil servant.
