The German government's response to the resignation of Dominique Strauss-Kahn

The German government respects the decision of Dominique Strauss-Kahn to resign as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

This will help the IMF to become fully operational again without delay. During a very difficult period for the world economy, Dominique Strauss-Kahn performed valuable work for the IMF.

The International Monetary Fund will continue to play an important role in helping the world come to terms with the consequences of the financial crisis.
